Bandipora, November 23 —The Gurez-Bandipora road in north Kashmir was closed to traffic on Saturday following fresh snowfall at Razdan Top and other stretches, officials said.
Snowfall in the area began in the afternoon, leading to accumulation by evening, making the road impassable, according to reports.
Authorities have urged drivers to avoid traveling on the route until further notice, citing public safety concerns.
"Traffic on the Gurez-Bandipora road has been suspended as a precautionary measure due to snow accumulation," an official said.
Several parts of the Gurez Valley recorded fresh snowfall during the day, while the plains experienced intermittent rainfall, officials added.
