Srinagar/Jammu, 21 November 2024 – Multiple locations across five districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar, were raided by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday in connection with infiltration cases and militant attacks.
In a statement, the NIA said, “The searches led to the seizure of various materials showing linkages between militants, overground workers (OGWs), and hybrids, whose premises were searched.”
The NIA also stated that the premises of sympathizers and cadres of these organizations were searched as part of the crackdown.
“The suspected hybrids and OGWs targeted in today’s searches are linked with newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of banned outfits,” the statement added.
It further mentioned that the NIA had registered case RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU on the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on 24th October, based on information about the infiltration of active militants from LeT and JeM.
“These infiltrations were facilitated by OGWs based in villages in the Jammu region, who provided logistical support, food, shelter, and money. Further investigations are ongoing in the case,” the statement concluded.
