West Bank, 17 February: The Israeli military arrested 25 Palestinians in new raids across Hebron and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society.

According to reports, the raids targeted several areas, with detainees including minors and former prisoners.

The latest round brings the total number of Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces in the West Bank to over 14,500, with many detainees later released.

The two groups reported that raids also continue in other parts of the northern West Bank, including Jenin and Tulkarem. In those areas, at least 160 Palestinians were arrested in Jenin, and 130 others in Tulkarem since the start of the year.

"These arrests have become a regular part of military operations in the region," said a spokesperson for the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs.

"The raids have escalated since the outbreak of the war in Gaza."

The Israeli military’s operations have grown more intense since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023.

Palestinians have faced both military raids and violent attacks by illegal Israeli settlers.

According to local authorities, at least 916 Palestinians have been killed, with over 7,000 others injured since the escalation began.

In a separate incident, a Palestinian was injured by live fire during clashes with Israeli forces in the village of Tal, located south of Nablus city, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported.

These ongoing attacks come as Israel continues its "Operation Iron Wall," a campaign aimed at consolidating control over resistance strongholds in the West Bank.

According to the United Nations, the operation has displaced at least 40,000 Palestinians.

The situation has drawn increasing international attention. In July 2024, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem, is illegal, and demanded the evacuation of all settlements in these areas.
