Palestinian fighters have detonated explosives targeting Israeli troopers after luring them into two tunnels in Rafah’s Yabna refugee camp, southern Gaza.
In a statement, Hamas said they destroyed an Israeli position near the al-Zalal Mosque with mortar fire.
The attack was carried out in coordination with the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Heavy fighting has been reported throughout southern Gaza after Israel’s military launched new ground assaults this week.
According to Israeli military figures, at least 684 troopers have been killed and 4,213 others injured since the outbreak of the war on October 7.
