Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, attacked Israeli troopers and seized their ammunition during an operation in northern Gaza's Jabalia, where troopers are reported to be either dead, wounded, or captured.
However, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee denied the claim on X, saying that there was “no incident of soldier capturing.”
In a statement, Abu Obaida, al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson, said that fighters carried out an operation on Saturday afternoon by luring troopers into one of the tunnels in Jabalia refugee camp.
Al-Qassam fighters said that the force was ambushed inside the tunnel and at its entrance, with members firing at point-blank range.
“When an Israeli force entered, they were also attacked with explosive devices,” he said.
