Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of J&K and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that the main campaigner of Engineer Rashid has been detained by the police to prevent him from campaigning.
She said that it has been done to help their proxy candidate, adding that democracy is being ripped apart in Kashmir.
In a post on X, she said: “Shoukat Pandit - Engineer Rashid’s main campaigner has been picked up by @JmuKmrPolice and detained at Chugal police station. This has been done at the behest of those who want to prevent him from campaigning and thus help their proxy candidate instead. Democracy is being ripped apart in Kashmir.”
It is pertinent to mention that Rashid’s rallies have been receiving a huge response across parts of north and central Kashmir, with thousands of people attending and participating.
