LG Announces 100 Units of Free Power for ‘Deserving Families’

Srinagar, 04 November 2024: During the first session of the Legislative Assembly, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, announced plans to provide 100 units of free electricity to ‘deserving families,' stating that the specifics of this initiative are currently being finalized.
 
While addressing the assembly, Sinha stated, “We have decided to provide 100 units of free power to deserving families. Modalities in this regard are being worked out.” 
 
In addition to the electricity announcement, Sinha shared details about the administration’s commitment to sustainability, stating that all government buildings will soon receive solar rooftop power connections as part of the Prime Minister's Surya Ghar Scheme (PMSGS).
 
The Lieutenant Governor also addressed the concerns of Kashmiri Migrant Pandits, assuring administration's dedication to their safe and secure return to the valley. 
 
“Our administration will make serious efforts for the safe and secure return of Kashmiri Migrant Pandits back to the valley and also provide the Kashmiri Migrant employees safe accommodation,” he added.
