Baramulla: The newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, paid a visit to the house of the slain police officer in North Kashmir's Tangmarg on Saturday. The police officer was tragically shot dead by suspected militants earlier this week.
Addressing the media, DGP Swain expressed determination in the investigation, stating that crucial leads have been uncovered in the case, and those responsible for the killing will not be spared.
He said that the loss of a dedicated and honest member of the police force who was not only a colleague but also a father, brother, and a Kashmiri.
Furthermore, DGP Swain said that the sinister intentions of external forces, suggesting that "handlers across the border" (referring to the Line of Control) are attempting to disrupt the peace in the region.
He vowed to create an environment where no one would be willing to support such hostile actors.
"We can only spoil their plans when they have no supporters here and we will ensure that an atmosphere will be created in Kashmir where no one will be ready to help the handlers" he added.
