Srinagar: On the 78th Independence Day, J&K LG urged the people of Jammu to stay united with the Indian armed forces to combat the rising militancy in the region, stating that the people of Jammu have never supported militancy.
Addressing the Independence Day gathering at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, the LG stated, “Efforts are being made by the neighboring country to revive terrorism in J&K, but we will never allow that to succeed here. The people of Jammu have never supported terrorism, and I urge them to stay united with the security forces to eliminate terrorism from the region.”
The LG also praised the J&K police for earning numerous gallantry medals, noting that the police are working on multiple fronts in a professional manner.
It is pertinent to note that gun battles erupt in J&K daily, with frequent exchanges of fire reported in the Chenab, Pir Panchal, and Jammu regions.
