Srinagar: Two OGWs (overground workers) associated with LeT have been arrested in Gudoora area of Pulwama district on Friday, Police said.
In a statement, a spokesperson said that acting on specific intelligence input, an intensive search was conducted by Police in the apple orchards of Gudoora.
The statement reads that during search operation, 2 “Terror Associates” were apprehended tactfully.
They have been identified as Suhail Firdous, son of Firdous Ahmad Sheikh and a resident of Mahradpora, Utterpora Puchal and Shahid Gul son of Gh Mohd. Bhat and a resident of Wagum Pulwama.
“ From their possession incriminating materials were recovered. The investigation revealed that both the accused are terrorist associates of an active terrorist Aqib Sher Gojri linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT,” it reads.
It added that preliminary investigation also reveals that they were in a conspiracy with terrorist Aqib Sher-Gojri to carry out terrorist attacks in Pulwama.
“ A case vide FIR No. 239/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” it reads.
