Two ‘Hybrids’ Held With Four Pistols, 10 Grenades In Kupwara

Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said they have arrested two ‘hybrids’ of Lashkar-e-Tobia (LeT) and recovered arms and Ammunitions from their possession in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

They have been identified as Talib Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Laderwan area in Kupwara and Shameem Ahmad, resident of Kawadi Laderwan, Kupwara.

Police further said that the accused are affiliated with Lashkar-e-Tobia while four pistols, eight pistol magazines, 130 pistol rounds and 10 hand grenades were recovered.

‘Hybrid’ is a newly coined term which according to police are undercover militants, carry out attacks like sleeper cells and live a normal life within the society.
