Palestinian Armed Fighters Enter Israel-Occupied Territories Amid ‘War Readiness’

Two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli shelling east of Bureij refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip, following an exchange of gunfire and rockets between factions in the Gaza Strip and Israeli occupation forces with Palestinian fighters entering inside the Israeli-occupied territories on Saturday and announcing military operation. 
 
The escalation started following the surprise firing of a barrage of rockets from Gaza into several Israeli-occupied towns and cities along the coast, causing damage and possibly injuries.
 
Reports said the rockets, some of which were intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome, reached as far as Tel Aviv.
 
At the same time, reports said armed men breached the “border” fence between Gaza and Israel. 
 
Expecting fierce Israeli reprisal, all sorts of activities, including schools and universities as well as businesses in the Gaza Strip, stopped and people stayed home.
 
The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday declared a state of readiness for war following a massive barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip 
 
A barrage of rockets slammed into southern and central Israel Saturday morning, including in Jerusalem, where sirens wailed at around 8.15 p.m. (local time), Jerusalem Post reported.
