Pulwama: Authorities have demolished a Darul Uloom (Islamic seminary) building located in Chewa Kalan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. This action comes as a response to the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) reminder that two local militants had been killed within the premises last year.
An official statement has confirmed that the demolition was executed based on the recommendations put forth by the NIA.
In March 2022, two militants were killed within the same building. Subsequently, the NIA assumed control of the case for further investigation.
"During the course of the investigation, the NIA took into custody the administrators of Darul Uloom. The three-room structure, which had remained unused since the encounter last year, was a significant part of the inquiry," the official stated.
The demolition operation was carried out overnight by Revenue authorities in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies.
