Srinagar: Citing maintenance work, the J&K administration announced that the Srinagar—Jammu highway will remain closed for traffic from 6 pm on Monday to Tuesday.
An official stated that the NHAI will carry out urgent repair and maintenance work between Ramban and Banihal during the night of June 3rd and 4th. Consequently, traffic movement will be suspended.
He added that no vehicles, including those carrying fresh perishables and livestock, will be allowed on NH 44 today after 6 pm from Qazigund towards Ramban.
"Similarly, no vehicular movement shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) after 5 pm and from Udhampur after 6 pm. Commuters are advised to avoid travelling on NH 44 until the work is completed," he said.
