J&K Administration Reconstitutes SDA, JDA, LCMA

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir administration has reconstituted the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), Jammu Development Authority (JDA), and the J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LCMA) under the Jammu & Kashmir Development Act-1970.

According to the administration, the reconstitution notifications for the SDA and JDA will take effect from March 6, 2024. The notification for the LCMA’s reconstitution will be effective retrospectively from May 24, 2024.

Members of these bodies will serve for a term of two years, the order said.

Srinagar Development Authority (SDA): Chairperson: Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department.

Members: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Vice-Chairperson SDA, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, and representatives from the Finance Department, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Revenue Department, and Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment (all at or above the rank of Additional Secretary/Special Secretary). Also included are the Chief Architect J&K Architect Organisation, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, and Chief Town Planner Kashmir.

Jammu Development Authority (JDA): Chairperson: Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department.

J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LCMA): Formerly known as the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA). Chairperson: Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department.

Members: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Vice-Chairperson Srinagar Development Authority, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, and representatives from the Finance Department, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Revenue Department, and Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment (all at or above the rank of Additional Secretary/Special Secretary).
