Kangan: J&K administration’s Legal Metrology Department (LMD) has sealed two petrol pumps in central Kashmir’s Kangan over discrepancies in fuel dispensing. The stations were found to be delivering less fuel than what was paid for by customers, according to officials.
Acting on a tip-off, the Legal Metrology Department (LMD) of Jammu & Kashmir conducted a surprise raid and discovered that petrol pumps in Wussan Kangan were using malfunctioning nozzles, resulting in fuel shortages for customers, an official said.
Despite previous warnings and fines, these pumps continued their malpractices, he said.
Local residents have commended the LMD’s action and are advocating for stricter measures, including the revocation of the pumps' licenses, to prevent such incidents in the future, he added.
