Srinagar: A joint VC meeting, co-chaired by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, convened with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to assess the situation following the Shalla Kadal attack, which resulted in the deaths of two non-locals.
In a press release, the Police said that all participants were briefed on the security measures, and security clusters were reviewed to strengthen security protocols and ensure a safe environment.
In concluding remarks, the Div Com Kashmir underlined the collective responsibility of the magistracy and Police to maintain a secure and conducive atmosphere.
The IGP Kashmir urged officers to remain vigilant, collaborate with security counterparts, and continually refine response strategies to thwart similar attempts.
In addition to DCs and SSPs, the meeting was attended by Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) from all ranges, the Senior Superintendent of Police for PCR Kashmir, and the Superintendents of Police for South City Srinagar and Cargo.
