Police Say Two OGWs Arrested in Doda

Doda: As militant attacks and operations in Jammu, Pir Panchal, and Chenab Valley continue, police have launched what they call a crackdown on OGWs in Doda, announcing the arrest of multiple persons.
 
According to a police statement provided to GNS, an FIR (No. 67/2024) was filed on June 12, 2024 at Police Station Gandoh under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act, and UAPA.
 
“As part of the investigation supervised by SDPO Gandoh, two OGWs identified as Mubashir Hussain, Safder Ali, and Sajad Ahmed were arrested on June 18 and June 20, 2024, respectively,” reads the statement. 
 
“They are currently in judicial custody at District Jail Bhaderwah. Additionally, on June 26, 2024, another FIR (No. 70/2024) was lodged at Police Station Gandoh, leading to the apprehension of Showket Ali on July 14, 2024, who is currently in police custody.”
 
Further arrests are anticipated as the investigation progresses, it reads. 
 
The ages and residential details of the arrested persons have not been disclosed by the authorities.


Reportedly, search operations are underway in the upper reaches of Doda, with sources indicating that foreign militant groups have taken over dense forests on a mountain bordering the Kashmir Valley and Jammu.
