Srinagar: A youth was killed after a landslide hit him in North Kashmir’s Langate area on Monday evening.
An official stated that on Monday evening, a person named Bilal Ahmad Mir (25), son of Ab Jabbar Mir and resident of Langate Handwara, was killed by a landslide.
In response, a police party promptly arrived at the scene and the injured individual was taken to the hospital.
However, the doctor declared him dead on arrival, police said.
Meanwhile, an inquest proceeding under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) has been initiated, and the deceased’s body has been taken into police custody.
Once all the necessary legal formalities were completed, the deceased’s body was handed over to the legal heirs for the last rites, the official added.
