Srinagar, Sep 26: Srinagar Police has attached or frozen four immovable properties valued at approximately Rs 7.11 crore in separate cases involving narcotics and activities booked under the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, officials said.
The properties include a residential house in Zakura, a two-storeyed building with shops and a rice mill in Wagoora, a residential property in Danihama and another residential house in Check Mujgund.
In the latest action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house and adjoining land at Bilal Colony, Zakura, valued at around Rs 2.5 crore.
Police identified the property as belonging to Owais Ahmad Rather, son of Gh. Mohd Rather, and said it was linked to FIR No. 34/2026 under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
According to police, the investigation found that the property had been acquired in connection with illicit drug trafficking. It was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act.
“The order prohibits its sale, lease, transfer, alteration or creation of any third-party interest until further orders of the competent authority,” police said.
Earlier, Police Station Nowgam attached property valued at approximately Rs 2.85 crore belonging to Sheeraz Ahmed Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Wagoora, BK Pora.
The property, located at Wagoora, Tehsil BK Pora, comprises a two-storeyed concrete building, two shops and a rice mill constructed over 18 marlas of land.
Police said the attachment was made in connection with FIR No. 121/2023 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act, under Section 68-F of the Act after approval from the competent authority.
In a separate case, Police Station Ahmadnagar attached a residential property at Danihama, Hazratbal, valued at approximately Rs 1.30 crore.
The property belongs to Zahoor Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir, and comprises a single-storeyed residential house with adjoining land measuring six marlas.
Police said the action was taken in connection with FIR No. 20/2026 under Section 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 18-B, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UA(P) Act.
The property was attached under Section 25 of the UA(P) Act after prior approval from the competent authority and in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure, police said.
The action was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class and independent witnesses.
Meanwhile, Police Station Shalteng froze a single-storeyed residential house along with seven marlas of land at Check Mujgund, valued at approximately Rs 46 lakh.
The property belongs to Amir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Ashraf Mir, and is linked to FIR No. 43/2023 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Police said the investigation established that the property had been acquired from proceeds allegedly generated through illicit drug trafficking. It was subsequently frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
Police said the latest actions were aimed at targeting properties allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking and militancy-related activities.
Together, the four properties have a stated value of approximately Rs 7.11 crore, according to Srinagar Police.
