Ganderbal: A forest fire erupted in the Wurandore Manzgam area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal District on Friday evening, causing extensive damage to the region's flora and fauna.
According to locals, the fire, which ignited this Friday evening, is rapidly spreading and engulfing forest land.
Official sources have not confirmed the incident, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Furthermore, various areas in Kashmir, including the Chenab region's Doda, north Kashmir's Karnah, and the Devpora Forest Area in south Kashmir's Shopian, have also witnessed forest fires, as reported by locals.
Notably, the Forest Survey of India (FSI) had earlier issued a high-level warning about forest fires in Jammu and Kashmir.
