Srinagar, Sep 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has invited offline applications for allocation of four MBBS seats under the Central Pool for spouses and children of militancy victims for the 2026-27 academic session.
As per a notification issued by BOPEE, one seat has been earmarked at A.N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya in Bihar, one at Grant Medical College, Mumbai in Maharashtra and two at Pt JNM Medical College, Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
The seats are available to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir who are spouses or children of deceased or disabled civilian victims of militancy.
Applicants must have completed 17 years of age by the time of admission or must attain the age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
As per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms, candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with the prescribed marks and must have secured the qualifying percentile in NEET-UG 2026.
Selection will be based on the candidate’s rank in NEET-UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), with BOPEE clarifying that the Ministry of Home Affairs will not conduct any separate examination.
The Board said submission of an application would not confer any right to selection, which will be made by the concerned Ministry as per applicable rules. The J&K reservation policy will also apply to the Central Pool MBBS seats.
Under the prescribed priority, preference will first be given to children whose both parents were killed by terrorists, followed by children of families where the sole breadwinner was killed by terrorists.
The third priority will cover wards of victims who suffered permanent disability or serious injuries in terrorist operations. The benefit under Priority I and Priority II will be restricted to one ward of a family.
Applicants have been asked to submit documents including the Domicile Certificate, NEET score card, Class 12 marks certificate, date-of-birth certificate and category certificate, wherever applicable.
For verification under the specified priorities, applicants will also have to submit documents including the FIR, death certificate, postmortem report and an affidavit stating that no other family member has availed the benefit under the category.
For Priority II, a certificate confirming that the deceased was the sole breadwinner is required from the concerned SHO and hospital, duly countersigned by the SSP and Tehsildar and authenticated by the Administrative Secretary, Home Department.
For Priority III, applicants must furnish a certificate confirming the nature of injury and disability issued or verified by the State Police or Home Department.
The last date for submitting applications in duplicate in physical form at BOPEE offices in Jammu or Srinagar is September 15, 2026, by 4 pm.
