Srinagar: A forest guard who was tragically shot in the thigh during an anti-smuggling patrol has succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, reports said.
As per reports, the deceased was working as casual labourer in the Forest department and succumbed to his injuries at SMHS (Shri Maharaja Hari Singh) hospital in Srinagar.
He was identified as Imran Yousuf Wani, a resident of Charar-e-Sharief in central Kashmir Budgam district. However, his age wasn’t known immediately.

Pertinently, two employees of the Forest department were fired upon by unknown gunmen in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
Police, however said that the suspected militants have carried out the attack. “Police Station Rajpora received credible information that a duo of forest department employees have been targeted by terrorists.”
“The incident took place in south Kashmir’s Pulwama, near the Bangender Bridge checkpoint, where the employees were attempting to apprehend timber smugglers,” Police said.

“Senior police officers along with additional reinforcement reached the spot to ascertain the facts, police added.
