Kishtwar, August 24: Two people fell into the Chenab River at Murnall Nalla in the Bunjwah area of Kishtwar district on Monday, with authorities launching a search and rescue operation, officials said.
The incident was reported during the afternoon, although the circumstances that led to the two people falling into the river have not yet been ascertained.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, rescue teams were mobilised and began searching the river and its adjoining stretches for the missing persons.

“Rescue teams are continuing the search along the river stretch, while further details regarding the identities of the persons are awaited,” an official said.
Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident, while further details are awaited as the search operation continues.
