Srinagar, March 24 — Advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi, once a close aide of late separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, has publicly disassociated himself from the Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G), declaring his allegiance to India.
"I severed ties with the DPM in 2017 during my tenure as chairman and have had no association with the group or any separatist organization since then," Reshi said in a formal statement, The Kashmiriyat Reported.
Criticizing the APHC’s ideology, he said that it had failed to address the legitimate aspirations and grievances of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. "I am now solely dedicated to my legal profession," he added.
Reshi also warned against the unauthorized use of his name in connection with separatist groups. "Any such act will invite legal action," he stated.
Affirming his allegiance to India, Reshi described himself as a bona fide citizen committed to the supremacy of the Indian Constitution.
