Shopian: Two militants were killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Dragad area of Sugan – South Kashmir’s Shopian district and an army man who was one among three personnel injured in the gunfight succumbed to his injuries, officials said on Wednesday.
A senior Police officer said that two militants have been killed in the encounter while as the search operation is on in the area.
However, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said one of them was involved in the killing of a non local carpenter, Sageer Ahmad.

Sageer, a resident of Sarai Hisamuddin in Saharanpur in UP, was killed by the gunmen last weekend at Litter Pulwama.
“One of the killed (militants) has been identified as LeT commander Adil Ahmad Wani, active since 7/2020. He was involved in killing of one poor labourer at Litter Pulwama,” the IGP said in a tweet.
“So far, 15 militants have been killed in two weeks,” he added.
