Srinagar: A 30-year-old policeman who was critically injured on Tuesday in a “brief shootout” with militants near Zoonimar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district has succumbed to his injuries.
A top police officer confirmed his death.
“He had bullet injuries in upper parts of body including neck and died at SKIMS Soura,” he said.

Earlier, Police said the militant was also injured and probably escaped from the spot.
Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants.
