Controversial Author Salman Rushdie is currently on a ventilator and unable to speak after being stabbed on a stage at Chautauqua Institution in Western New York.
As per his agent, Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged.
Police have detained a suspect identified as Hadi Matar, 24, from Fairview, New Jersey.
Mr Rushdie started getting death threats after he published his fourth book, The Satanic Verses, blasphemous to Muslims.
