Russian Parliament Passes Resolution As Condemnation Of Quran Desecration

The Russian parliament has passed a resolution, condemning the permission by a court to desecrate the Islamic holy Quran in Sweden, South Asia Index reported. 
 
“Desecration of Quran has nothing to do with freedom of speech or with principles of democracy"  reads the resolution. 
 
“One of the signs of civilized society is respect for the sacred books of the world’s leading religions."  
 
Hurting sentiment of millions of believers doesn’t amount to freedom of speech.,” It said. 
 
"Russian parliament condemns this act of vandalism approved by Swedish authorities,” it added. 

Earlier, Vladimir Putin vowed to punish those who are found guilty of burning the Quran and will serve their sentence in the Federation’s predominantly Muslim regions when reports of Quran burning came from Russia.
