Jammu: Two “interstate drug smugglers”, a couple from India’s Punjab were arrested along with seven kilograms of heroin in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Friday, Police said.
The accused couple has been identified as Lovepreet Singh, son Karnail Singh, resident of Ram Tirth Road, Amritsar and his wife Mandeep Kaur.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Udhampur Police station and investigation taken up,” a police officer said in a statement.
The couple was travelling in an (Innova) vehicle which has been also seized, police added.
