Ramban, October 4: A man died after falling through a gap in the Gangroo-Ramsoo flyover in Ramban district while attempting to cross to the other side amid a heavy traffic jam late Saturday night, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Hatish Sharma, a resident of Udhampur, officials said.
According to an official, Sharma had got down from his vehicle after traffic came to a standstill and attempted to cross the flyover to reach the other side. During the attempt, he fell through a gap in the middle of the flyover and died on the spot.

The official said a heavy traffic jam had developed in the Gangroo and Hingni areas following the breakdown of a truck, leaving vehicles stranded on the stretch.
The man’s body was subsequently shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, where his identity was established.
Meanwhile, authorities have initiated a probe into the incident and are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal fall.
