Srinagar: J&K Police have identified the four militants killed in two separate encounters (anti-militancy operations) in North Kashmir’s Sopore and South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Tuesday.
In Pulwama’s Tujjan area Abid Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Barpora, Pulwama and Majid Nazir Wani, a resident of Banpora Ladoo Pampore were killed.
“The duo was a part of group involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on security forces and civilian atrocities. Besides, terrorist Majid Nazir Wani was involved in the killing of SI (sub-inspector) Farooq Ahmad,” Police said in a statement to The Himalayan Post.

In Sopore’s Tulibal area, Zahid Ahmad Chopan, resident of Tengwani Shopian, and Mohd Youns Gul, a resident of Washbugh Pulwama were killed.
As per police records, they had joined militancy ranks recently.
“People are requested to cooperate with Police till the areas of encounter sites are completely sanitized and cleared off of all the explosive materials if any,” the statement added.
