Police Seizes 130 Liquor Bottles From Two Non-Local Bootleggers In Baramulla

Srinagar: Police arrested two bootleggers and seized 130 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession in north Kashmirโ€™s Baramulla district on Sunday.

The accused were identified as Saral Sa, son of Sukhan Sa and Vikey Kumar, son of Raju Sa, both residents of Kalash Nagar- Nazimpur, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh.

โ€œA police party from Police Station Baramulla led by SHO Baramulla, Inspector Showkat Ahmad under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla established a check post (naka) at Farooqi point Baramulla,โ€ Police said.

During checking two persons were roaming in a suspicious manner and were stopped for checking.

However, both tried to flee from the spot but apprehended tactfully and 130 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their possessionโ€, police spokesperson said in a statement.

A case under relevant sections of the Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and an investigation has been initiated.
