Srinagar: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Akhnoor sector at the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with troops.
During his visit, Lt. Gen. Dwivedi, who was commissioned into the 18th battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles on 15 December 1984 from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun engaged in motivational interactions with a diverse assembly of military personnel.
He also praised veterans, members of the Indian Air Force (IAF), and central paramilitary forces for their devotion to duty.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Northern Army Command said: โLt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Army Commander Northern Command visited forward areas in Akhnoor and celebrated Diwali with troops.โ
Diwali is a Hindu festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
