Srinagar: A Lashker-e-Toiba militant was apprehended along with a pistol and ammunitions in orchards of Nikloora village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Thr militant has been identified as Shamim Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi resident of Nikloora – associated with LeT and active since July this year.
A senior Police officer told GNS that today on a specific input generated by Pulwama Police, a CASO was launched jointly by police Pulwama, 55RR of army and 182 CRPF in the orchards of village Nikloora.

The police officer further said that during search one militant was spotted and challenged. The militant was apprehended and one pistol and other ammunition was recovered from his possession.
A case in this regard has been registered and investigation has been taken up, the officer added.
