Rajouri: The authorities on Friday ordered a magisterial probe after a man, who was under custody, allegedly hanged himself to death inside the washroom of a lockup in Darhal police station of Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
An official said that a man who hails from Pargal village was in police custody from the last few days after being booked in a case and on the Friday morning, he was found hanging inside the washroom of the lockup.
He said that after the incident authorities ordered a magisterial probe into the incident with Assistant Commissioner of Revenue Rajouri appointed as inquiry officer.
He said that the man, who allegedly hanged himself to death, was booked under FIR No. 90/2021 U/S 341/354 IPC and he was also wanted in case FIR No. 98/2021 U/S 452/376 IPC.
