Srinagar: An OGW (Over Ground Worker) was arrested and three pistols, four grenades along with magazines and bullets were recovered from his possession, police said.
He has been identified as Kaisar Zahoor Khan, a resident of Nawpora area of Safakadal, Srinagar.
A senior police officer said a police party from Shopian and police station Safakadal Srinagar arrested the OGW.

He said three pistols, six magazines, 20 pistol rounds and four grenades were recovered on his direction near a dispensary at Danamazar Ground in Kashmir Capital, Srinagar.
Earlier, this week, Inspector General of Police Mr Vijay Kumar said over 150 OGWs were arrested in Kashmir since January of this year and termed the network is a big challenge for the police force.
The decade old ‘support’ OGW (Over Ground Workers) is a network of people who help militants with logistical support, cash, shelter, and other infrastructure. However, IGP said it’s the OGW who becomes ‘Hybrid’ and those who have a history of ‘stone pelting’ and militancy pick arms in Kashmir.
