Banihal Youth Labourer, Dubbed As Militant: Family Demands Body

Having fought militancy all his life, father of Aamir Magray from Banihal โ€” one of the Two Militants killed in Hyderpora Encounter โ€“ has refuted police claim that his son was a militant.

"My son was working as a labourer in Srinagar, I have myself killed many militants, how can my son be a militant," he said.ย 
ย 
He urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to help them in taking the body back home for proper burial.

According to police, a foreign militant Haider and a local militant from Banihal was killed on Tuesday Evening in Hyderpora area of Srinagar.ย

However, the father of the alleged Militant identified as Amir from Banihal said that he came to know about the killing of his son in the morning only.

โ€œI was told that my son is a militant. Let me tell you that he was working in Srinagar as a labourer. I have myself killed militants. But today, we are being labelled as militants. How can my son be a militant,โ€ he said who had worked as an Ikhwan.ย

โ€œI urge LG Manoj Sinha to allow me to take my son Amirโ€™s body back to Banihal where I can perform his last rites."
