Bandpur, March 13 — Two people were arrested at a checkpoint in north Kashmir’s Bandipora after arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession, police said.
In a statement to The Himalayan Post, police mentioned that a joint team of police, the Indian military’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and CRPF’s 45 Battalion arrested two OGWs at a checkpoint on Gandbal-Hajin Road.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Naseer Ahmad Parray, son of Bashir Ahmad Parray, a resident of Kathpura Hajin, and Mudasir Ahmad Parray, son of Mohd Ramzan Parray, a resident of Gandbal Hajin.
During the search, forces recovered two Chinese grenades, 18 live rounds of AK-47, one AK-47 magazine, one pistol, eight pistol rounds, one pistol magazine, and two mobile phones.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 20/2025 at PS Hajin under relevant sections of law, and an investigation is underway.
