Srinagar/Budgam, March 8– The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir, has filed a charge sheet against a Twitter handler before the Designated Special Court under the NIA Act in Budgam, accusing him of publishing  ‘anti-India, secessionist,’ and pro-freedom content.

According to an official statement, the case was registered after authorities received information about a Twitter account, Lacerated Kashmir, allegedly posting content that promoted ‘secessionism and terrorism’ in Jammu and Kashmir. The case, filed under FIR 18 of 2022 at Police Station CIK/SIA Kashmir, led to an extensive technical investigation.

SIA identified the Twitter handler as Irfan-Ul-Haq from Kawoosa Khalisa in Budgam.

“The accused created multiple Twitter accounts under pseudonyms to evade law enforcement. Handles such as Lacerated Kashmir, The Resistance Kashmir, Maimed Kashmir, and Wounded Kashmir were used to spread secessionist propaganda, glorify terrorism, and undermine the administrative setup,” the statement said.

It also alleged that he disrespected the Indian flag in his posts.

On March 7, 2025, SIA Kashmir filed a charge sheet against Irfan-Ul-Haq under IPC Section 153-A, Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act for judicial proceedings.
