Srinagar, Jan 27— Fresh snowfall across Kashmir, including Srinagar city, on Tuesday brought road, rail and air traffic to a standstill, forcing authorities to suspend movement across key routes.

The Srinagar–Jammu National Highway was closed after heavy snow near the Navyug Tunnel.
“Vehicular movement has been suspended from both the Jammu and Srinagar sides,” an official said.

Several other strategic roads were also shut, including the Mughal Road, Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road and Sinthan Road, due to worsening weather conditions.

Rail services were disrupted with two passenger trains cancelled, while the Banihal–Budgam service was suspended, officials confirmed.

Air connectivity was hit completely as all flights at Srinagar airport were cancelled because of poor visibility caused by continuous snowfall.

Authorities advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and urged passengers to stay in touch with airlines and follow official traffic advisories for updates.
