Riyadh, 20 February — The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs has banned filming or live streaming prayers inside mosques, including Taraweeh during Ramadan, citing the need to maintain sanctity and prevent distractions, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The ministry stated that imams and preachers must adhere to these guidelines and ensure worshippers follow proper mosque etiquette. “These measures aim to preserve the sanctity of mosques and create a suitable atmosphere for worship,” officials said.

The directives also prohibit collecting financial donations for Iftar meals. If such meals are arranged, they must take place in designated areas under official supervision while complying with health and safety regulations.
