Anantnag, 20 February — Anantnag Police have attached property worth ₹1 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, citing its connection to drug trafficking proceeds.
The seized asset, a double-storey under-construction house on one kanal of land in Cheenigund, Srigufwara, belongs to Abdul Majeed Bhat, son-in-law of Mohammad Ahsan Ganaie.
“The property has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act as part of a crackdown on drug networks,” police said in a statement.
Bhat is linked to a narcotics case registered under FIR No. 68/2021 at Police Station Srigufwara, where a large quantity of contraband was recovered.
“This action reflects our commitment to dismantling the financial infrastructure of the drug trade and protecting society from its harmful effects,” an Anantnag Police spokesperson said.
