Uri, 21 February — The body of a man missing for nearly a month was recovered from the NHPC dam in Uri, North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said Friday.
The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Bali Kumar, son of Bal Ram Kumar from Bandi Brahmna, Uri, had been missing since January 20.
His family had filed a missing person report at Uri police station.
Following extensive searches, police and civil defense teams located and retrieved his body from the dam.
Officials said the body will be handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities are completed.
