Anantnag, Apr 25 — Police on Saturday launched coordinated narco cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) at nearly 20 locations across south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, targeting residences of alleged drug kingpins.
“Multiple police teams carried out searches at the houses of suspected kingpins as part of an intensified crackdown on narcotics,” officials said.
They said K9 units were deployed during the operations to detect concealed contraband.
In parallel, authorities have begun surveying properties suspected to have been acquired through illicit proceeds. “Steps are being taken to initiate attachment proceedings under the provisions of the NDPS Act,” officials said.
The simultaneous searches formed part of a wider campaign against drug networks in the valley, with police indicating further action may follow based on the findings.
