Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima has died in a ‘plane crash’ along with nine others, President Lazarus Chakwera have announced.
The aircraft disappeared from airport radars on Monday.
According to the African country’s president Lazarus Chakwera, the aircraft’s wreckage has been discovered with no survivors on Tuesday.
“A search and rescue operation launched for the missing plane carrying our vice president and nine others has concluded. The plane has been located. It is with great sorrow that I must report this tragic event,” Chakwera stated.
The Malawian president revealed that the aircraft was discovered “completely destroyed” in Chikangawa Forest, noting that “words cannot describe how heartbreaking this is.”
