Kupwara: Two persons have died after succumbing to burn injuries sustained in an alleged gas cylinder explosion inside the Kupwara sub-jail earlier this month.
One of the deceased has been identified as Syed Tauseef Geelani, son of Syed Mohammad Geelani, a resident of Chetkheri Karnah.
It was learned that the inmate had been granted bail in a case under FIR number 01/2023 just yesterday.
It is pertinent to mention that nine jail inmates were injured after a gas cylinder exploded inside the sub-jail on July 19, 2024.
