Kupwara, 16 November 2024 — Traffic on the Karnah-Kupwara road has been halted following fresh snowfall at Sadhna Top, officials reported on Saturday.
An official from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) said, "We have begun snow-clearing efforts to reopen the route. Operations are underway to restore vehicular movement as quickly as possible."
In the wake of the snowfall, an advisory has been issued for travelers on the Karnah-Chowkibal road. "Travelers are advised to check the road status before planning their journey.”
The advisory further noted that vehicles lacking skid chains will be prohibited from passing through the Traffic Control Points (TCP) at Baghballa and Chowkibal. "This measure is to ensure the safe passage of vehicles on the snow-covered roads," it added.
