Srinagar: A civilian was injured after suspected militants lobbed a grenade in Eidgah area of Srinagar on Sunday evening, police said.
Police identified the injured as Ajaz Ahmed Deva, 32, son of Abdul Rasheed Deva and a resident of Sangam, Srinagar.
In a Tweet, Srinagar police said that militants lobbed grenade un Eidgah area today evening and one civilian was injured in the incident.
“He has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the tweet said.
“One grenade was lobbed by terrorists in Eidgah area which caused minor splinter injury to one person namely Ajaz Ahmed Deva S/o Abdul Rasheed Deva aged 32 years R/o Sangam, Srinagar. Person has been taken to hospital & is out of danger. Operation launched to catch the culprit(s),” police tweeted.
