Srinagar: Amid snowfall, the residents of Shitkadi village in Sonamarg and Ganangeer Kangan area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday blocked the national highway as a protest against the government stating that the Construction Companies have failed to compensate for the damage caused to their residential houses due to blasting work.
Protesters blocked the national highway at Gagangeer and protested against the APCO and NHIDCL Companies for damaging their houses during blasting and failing to compensate.
Similar protests and concerns were witnessed at the Shitkadi village of Sonamarg amid snowfall.
Most of the residential houses developed cracks due to blasting -underway -for the construction of the Z-Morh Tunnel near Shitkadi Sonamarg.
"Despite repeated pleas, the concerned agencies ignore our plight, and our houses are situated very close to the Tunnel making our lives miserable.
